Does anyone here know much about Automatic Writing? I have tried it before with pooh-ish results lol

I would like to try it again - or at least have someone perhaps share some tips or experiences or insight even as to how it works/what it is.

I don't really know much on it as I've never really had the patience for it LOL although I've done it before not at will though. From what I understand Automatic Writing has a few different aspects. There is the Automatic writing when the spirit/ascended being/etc.. totally takes over and does the writing for you and then there is where the spirit/ascended being/etc... draws in so close to your energy field and speaks/impressed upon you and you take down what you get. In one aspect it is a lot like mediumship where you expand your aura, your energy field and you allow the spirit/etc... to draw in close as well and really impress upon you the messages. I know its not much, I look forward to hearing others replies!

I once had an experience with automatic writing that came pretty spontaneously through the use of the ogham alphabet but it's been my only experience so far.

Guess, I'm not a big help on this. Anyway, hope you will be successful.

I am curious about automatic writing as well. I belong to a large group of psychics on the web, we all get together and share in and discuss our gifts, lending eachother support. I'm there for clairvoyance and clairempathy, but there are many mediums and omany other kinds of psychics that belong to the group (over 1000 members).

I would love to get some more information on automatic writing as well... This is something I always found very interesting...

Hello everyone, I didnt want you to think I had forgotten about my promise to deliver some answers on automatic writing. I talked to a medium friend of mine, and a few other psychics/intuitives about it. They all agreed that automatic writing, if practiticed with, can yield wonderful results.

It can take time and patience for some, and for others it happens in an instant. It can be used to reach spirit guides (for yourself and others), contacting loved ones who have crossed over, and as i divination tool, although that purpose is actually the least common.

Here is a very helpful guided exercise to develop automatic writing. Be patient, it can time to perfect, just like meditation. I give this exercise a five out a five stars, and I plan to utilize it often myself.

AUTOMATIC WRITING


The following exercise is a simple way to develop intuition, access inner guidance, and unblock creativity.

1. Find a quiet place where you won’t be interrupted.

2. Have a pen and pad of paper ready then settle into a comfortable sitting position.

3. At the top of a piece of paper write what you would like guidance on. Decide whether you would like general guidance or guidance on a specific question. It helps to date this especially if you are keeping a journal.

4. Take a few moments to center yourself. Tune into your breathing and take a few slow, deep breaths. Allow your breathing to relax your mind and body. Then ground yourself. Feel the ground beneath you. Imagine that you run a grounding cord from the base of your spine down to the center of the earth. Then feel the energy of the earth come up through the base of your spine, up through your entire body, and out through the top of your head, connecting with the universe above. Now imagine that a golden light comes down from above and enters your body through your crown, at the top of your head. Imagine this light flowing down the center of your body, then out through the base of your spine, extending down to the center of the earth and anchoring you to the earth below.

5. Next ask for the highest guidance possible. When you feel ready pick up your pen and write whatever comes to you without stopping. Do not judge, analyze or evaluate what you have written even if it does not answer your question. Write until your hand is done. When you are finished, read what you wrote.

Ah, nifty. I'd never sought to give that bit a name, but it sure comes close to what Adonis said and was never really sought. It's only really happened to (for?) me twice, but really quite interesting what comes out of it.

Im going to start working on this every night. I work evenings and get home around 1 am, so the house is quite and I'm usually up until 4 am.

This is when i do my meditation and study my tarot lessons or work on my other projects. So I'm going to add this and see what develops.

Do you cast a circle? or ask for a goddess to be present? or is it just like meditation, is this a silly question? Since you don't know who might show up i just wanted to know.

That is entirely up to you. Circle casting isn't mandatory, plenty of people, psychics included, practice automatic writing and are not familiar with Craft practices such as circle casting at all. If you would feel more comfortable casting a circle first, go ahead. Whatever works best for you.

I used to belong to a small group of people, all with different paths and we use to do something like that. At the end of the discussions, we used play some really soft, chilled music, and sit with eyes closed, very quiet, with pencil and paper. Sometimes you didn't get anything, but just sometimes, images came and we had to write them down as they came. It could be places or names or a story unfoldng or feelings. More often than not it was about the other people in the room. When we read it back it wouldn't make sense to us but it did to the others. It used to take about 30 minutes. I would say it was like a meditaton, if this is the kind of thing your meaning.

I used to do automatic writing back in my late teens early twenties with reasonable success. It is very slow at first, but like anything the more you practice the better you get at it. I am not a medium or anything like that, but I found this a good way to communicate with spirit (or at least that's what I thought I was doing). You can't be disturbed and you need to consentrate to get started, it does gets easier there after.

I did ask to draw something I never drew before, stuff like that just to check it wasn't just my train of thought creating these words it was a actual connection. You can also develop more than one connection I'm sure, the hand writing will alter and will differ from yours also. It is hard to explain it but give it a try if you have specific questions and if you are sincere I have no doubt this will certainly work for you.

I think ill cast a small circle just around me, then if it doesnt seem likely that it could bring in a neg. energy or whatever ( if i can actually do it ) i may stop. Ill post if anything weird comes up.
