I was wondering if anyone here had a favourite rune (or runes) because you like their energy, always get happy when you see them in a casting or reading, or because the mythology behind it just really gels with you.
For me, it would have to be Algiz. I suppose because I always associate it with shamanism, even more so than runes like Anossa (Os, Ass). I also see it as representing mythologies relating to Vilturj gods more than Nordic, which is quite a bastardisation, but it works for me. The branching elk antlers of Algiz to me show the branching antlers on the head of the forest god, and great shaman, Lesavny.
I see it as a rune of luck, divination, protection, communication and shamanism. I also see it as a rune of the otherworlds, connecting one place with another. I see this in the one path of the base stave splitting into the three otherworldly paths in the top of the stave.
I also think it's a very effective ritual rune; even incorporated into the Helm of Awe to emphasise protection.

Ingwaz is the rune that holds a special meaning to me...the saftey of my home and family screams loudly for me....providing me with an inner peace...brings a smile to my face...
I found the mythology of Norse hero-god Ing, quite an interesting read...as Vikings have always held a special meaning to me..although I still do not know why...LOL
The inspriational feeling of a beacon in the dark..also appeals to me...a "focal point" within me that keeps me growing...

A bit late replying to this thread but oh wells!
My favourite rune is Ansuz. It clears my mind, and aids me when i'm stuck in an exam or test at school.

I sort of like them all in one way or the other, they all contain a lot of wisdom, but if I'd have to choose, I'd say wynja (don't know what you'd call it in english, using the scandinavian name, it's the W)

I like all of them, they each have special meaning to me. But I guess my favorite is Dagaz. I like that point between light and dark, day and night, the tweens. It just screams new beginnings, new opportunities.

My favourite runes are Hagalaz and Isa. Isa was the rune I was drawn to the very first time I saw runes, and inexplicably it remained my favourite all these years lol. Hagalaz is a more recent favourite, just in the last year or two perhaps. They're not typical runes to be favourites, and I'm not sure if they say something about me as a person! But they both draw me in profoundly and thrum through me. Isa is the vast ice plane, the inexorable glacier, the low groan and creak of formidable power barely restrained... patience and calm and clarity... bringing everything to slow motion and resisting all efforts against it. It's the weight of inexorability pressing down upon you... the cold and clear and seductive beauty... glistening but deadly. Hagalaz is the swirling hail storm... the wild force of nature and the weather... blinding all in it's path and wreaking havoc and destruction... it's the untamable power, the thrill of the cold crisp vortex, the adrenaline rush of being blind and helpless and surrounded by such furious elements, yet feeling them thrumming through you, burning at your fingertips.
