I find I am curious about this. What music (if any) do you guys listen to when in your circle or meditating?

Of course the classic choice for me is Enya or Loreena McKennit (spelling?) but i also like nature sounds like the ocean. I'm actually looking for a possible combination of music and the nature sounds. like maybe like a piano sonata with an ocean mellowing in the background. If anyone's found something like that please let me know! BB OS

Thanks, you guys. I use only one piece ofmusic so far when it comes to meditating and that is Rachmaninoffs Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini Variation 18. I find it to be the most soothing piece of music.

I have a 3-CD set called "Yoga & Meditation" - I've found certain tracks put me into a kind of trance state and others bring me back out of it; I like to use the 'trancy' ones when I need to calm down, and I set the whole lot up as one big playlist (36 tracks!) for when I work on my Path and paraphernalia - gently in and out of trance means I get more work done, and it's of much better quality than if I use other music or none at all.
I'm thinking I might at some point dig out my SO's digital recorder sometime and play the 'trancy tracks' in the background as I record some guided visualisation exercises... maybe I'll actually get some results!

It all depends on my initial mood. If I begin really uptight, Death Metal (Amon Amarth) tingles me to my inner soul and puts me in the right mind set. If I am already pretty chilled, Loreena McKennit, Celtic Woman..they just hit the spot

Michael 'Adonis' I can relate, It all depends on my mood, but I too can work with anything and Manson is one of my top 10 strangley enough. Glad to hear someone else out there who is a little like me. But I find Loreena very easy to work with, esp the song she did for "mists of avalon" - The Mystic's dream I think it was called - That awesome sound that penetrates your soul, I love it! I also love using a lot of Red Indian music and African drums... I'm from South Africa so we have way too much to choose from in the African drums section, it's great though, you should try it, it's a fun kind of music to work with. Works for just about anyone.
