I've not researched much on Shamanism in general, but I know well enough from Magicka and from general practice that the realm of shapeshifting often coincides with Shamanism. With that in mind, I post this here instead of the dream forum, esp as its recurring.
I've always had problems remembering my dreams. Lately, though, I do get more and more. But a recurring dream that I've always had has been shapeshifting. I've shifted into many forms, but I've also failed to complete many shifts, being stuck in between or in the mental state of mind in the dream, but not physical. I've had pleasant experiences, and violent (where I am violent in the form). Now, I normally have at least 2 dreams a month like this, if not more, and since I rarely (until recently) remembered my dreams, it seemed that about 1/5 dreams were about shapeshifting.
Now, my first questions pertains to the cause. What does it mean to have such diverse and recurring dreams about shapeshifting? Any insight would be helpful.
My second question pertains to an interesting situation. I've been dating my current boyfriend for about 6 months, and we've talked some time before that. Ever since I've had intimate contact with him, the dreams have increased (more shapeshifting, and more vivid). He has a strong affinity for all canines and loves dogs, but he isn't involved in any pagan practices (although he doesn't criticize, he's really just indifferent). I'm curious to see if anyone has any theories as to why exposure to a person may increase these dreams, or if it may just be a freak coincidence. On the bright side, I positively love this man
