My grandma used to make this for us when we were little, and I thought I would pass it along, as it is a wonderful little concoction to have around. We simply call it Honey, Lemon and Ginger.
Ingredients:
Honey
Pure Lemon Juice
Ground/powdered Ginger Root
Mix Equal parts of Honey and Lemon Juice into a container (we use a honey bottle that is about 1/3 of the way full- this leaves room for adding more ingredients as needed for taste). Then, start by adding about 2 TBS ginger (to a standard 10 oz bottle of honey filled about 2/3 full with equal parts of honey and lemon juice). Shake bottle vigorously, and continue to season to taste with ingredients.
You want it just sweet enough, with a bit of a bitter tang. Try to get as much lemon and ginger in the mix as you can tolerate as this is what really helps the throat.
Into a small cup (large dixie cup), measure out approximately 1/4 cup of the mix and sip on it to ease a sore throat. This is great after drinking some lemon or ginger tea to help with a cough or cold.
As a child, my cousins and I would climb on the counters and sneak tastes of this because we loved it so much! It's one of the only things that has kept me from losing my voice when I've had bronchitis.

Thank you for sharing this with us!  I've drank honey and lemon when i've had a sore throat but never with ginger, i'll have to give it a try next time I have a sore throat.
