Basic Books A guide of what to read, what not to read and what’s worth a look! Please all you book worms out there add your recommended reading! Here’s me recommended reading for Witchcraft/Wicca……. Witchcraft/Wicca 101 (Beginners books) : • Wicca: A guide for the solitary practioner by Scott Cunningham. Please note: Cunningham uses the terms Wicca and Witchcraft as meaning the same thing. Not everyone agrees with this. - A highly respected author. Higly recommended foundations book. Lovely written and contains info which some books miss out on. Be careful with lack of distinction between Wicca and Witchcraft. reccomdendations: basic book, for anyone interested in solitary witchcraft Rating: 9/10 • Witch Alone: Thirteen moons to master natural magic by Marian Green. Very much orientated towards solitary Witches.Beautifully written. Inspiring. Occasional gems of wisdom though you must hunt for them. reccomdendations: basic book, for anyone interested in solitary witchcraft Rating: 9/10 • HedgeWitch by Rae Beth. Very much orientated towards solitary Witches. lovely book for solitaries. Inspiring. reccomdendations: basic book, for anyone interested in solitary witchcraft Rating: 7/10 • Buckland’s Complete Book of Witchcraft by Raymond Buckland. Helpful and interesting. Has a lot of good information, but nothing new. reccomdendations: basic book, for anyone interested in witchcraft and wicca Rating: 7/10 • To Ride A Silver Broomstick: New generational Witchcraft by Silver RavenWolf. There is a lot of people who do not like the way Silver RavenWolf writes but I find her writing a good easy read. Please do take everything you read though all of her books with a pinch of salt and get the latest edition. Nice, comprehensives and readable 101 guide. But do be warned to some of ravenWolf inaccuracies and prejudice. reccomdendations: basic book, for anyone interested in a nice readable witchcraft 101 book but please check up on some of the facts Rating: 8/10 • The Witches Bible by Janet & Stuart Farrar. Very much orientated to Wiccan coven work and the Alexandrain tradition. Well research with academic style writing without being too professional. Very gardnerian and Alexandrian orientated. But is a must read. reccomdendations: Intermediate book, for anyone who wants to go beyond witchcraft/wicca 101 and away from the fluff. Rating: 9/10 • The Real Witches Handbook by Kate West. basic, simple and readable 101. reccomdendations: basic book, for anyone interested in witchcraft 101 and good practices Rating: 7/10 • Green Witchcraft: Folk magic, fairy lore & herb craft by Ann Moura (a.k.a. Aoumiel). Folk Magic, green wicca, fairy lore and herb craft. A must for every Witch green or not. Reccomdendations: basic book, For anyone interested in an excellent 101 book focussed on the green side, Rating: 10/10 For full review of this book see: http://magickaschool.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7027Witchcraft/Wiccan History: • The Triumph of the Moon: A history of modern Pagan Witchcraft by Ronald Hutton. – A MUST READ, if you want to be accurate at all with Craft history! reccomdendations: intermediate book, for anyone interested in the truth about the history of the craft Rating: 10/10 Paganism General: Pagan Paths: A Guide to Wicca, Druidry, Asatru, Shamanism and Other Pagan Practices by Pete JenningsPLEASE ADD YOUR RECCOMENDATIONS FOR ANY PATHWAY!

Thank you for posting these!
It's hard to know where to start sometimes.
Looks like I'm going to need a library card!

Those of us who have been studying for a while have collected books.
I love anything Ann Moura writes.
Everyone here can go on an on.
Check out the book review section.

I'm with Emily for "The Inner Temple of Witchcraft"'. Christopher Penzcak is excellent in his writing on how to build a strong spiritual foundation.

I would like to second The Witche's Bible by the Farrars, which is quite indispensable to people learning Wicca, especially if they plan on practicing in a group some day.

One of my favorites is Rae Beth's Hedgewitch (sold in the US as The Wiccan Path - A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner)
It is beautifully written as a year's worth of letters to beginning witches and takes you through each Sabbat, including some lovely exercises, rituals and meditations along the way.

I'd like to recommend An Idiots Guide To Wicca And Witchcraft (3rd Edition) by Denise Zimmermann and Catherine A Gleason
(Not sure if I spelled their names right)
It doesn't go in to much detail on a lot of things, but it's pretty good. Sure helped me find out some good information.

Does anyone mind if I link to this in 'Spellbinding books'?

I was recently referred to a book by our Jessica:
I had never heard of this book before, but she has told me some really amazing things about it's content.
I'm going to try to find it.

This list could get pretty long. LOL
I just got a new Lewellyn catalogue in the mail, and it was filled with new titles, many for beginners.
We are a happening idea. Paganism has been discovered big time.
