I'd like to recommend The Element Encyclopedeia of Witchcraft by Judika Illes.

It's a rather hefty tome (about 890 pages). It doesn't have any information about how to cast circles and spells, or rituals for the days of the year but it's jam packed with interesting information about the history of witchcraft, shamanism and lots of other subjects. It has information about animals connected to witchcraft, herbs, tools of witchcraft, famous witches, magicians and sorcerers, Gods and Goddesses, witch hunters, and grimoires. Finally it has a light hearted section in the back that explores witches in popular culture and fiction, everything from Samantha in Bewitched to Hermione Granger in Harry Potter, and a few witches and wizards from comicbooks.

It may be hard to find these days (try Amazon). The version I have is a the large hardback first edition. There was a later paperback edition of the same size, and a massively cut-down mini-paperback version of about half the size, which Judika has said she didn't agree on having published.

Anybody know any good books on Meditation for beginners. Found a couple online but not very helpful. Only one or two pages long.

Just to add a couple of more if anyone is interested in learning all aspects of paganism. Satanic Bible by Anton LaVey.
The Devil's Notebook by Anton LaVey.

Sometimes it's hard to know where to start with reading material. I've had a look for a few of the books and it looks as though I need to start saving! I highly doubt I will find any of them in the libraries near me :(
