I know that hydrating yourself before, during and after drinking can help prevent or reduce a hangover. But, I was just curious if anyone had a good herbal hangover remedy.
I have recently gotten involved with a medieval re-enactment group, and, well, one of our hobbies is drinking each others homemade brews and wines! It is very delicious and very intoxicating! LOL! I have never had a hangover in my life, and I would like to keep it that way. However, if that ever happens, I'd like some options to try.
As well as, when we go to Medieval Events that last the entire weekend, I would be the belle of the ball if I could produce a hangover remedy the next morning for my friends (all credit going to you for the recipe of course!)!

Prevention is key, after over indulging always eat ( alot ) and you wont wake up with a hangover. Ive learned this from my BIL who always stuffs his face before he passes out, and he never has a hangover, ive tried it and it really works. Don't start drinking on an empty stomach either, all tho you dont want a really full stomach either Elia V

B-complex and drink so much water that you think you will burst.

Eating bread with nothing on it will also help because it helps to soak up the alcohol left in your system.

Best cure I know is try to drink about a pint of fresh orange juice before you go to bed. The vitamin c helps to speed the effects from your system and the pint of fluid helps counter the dehydration. Works every time for me.

Ginger sweets always work with me. Also you can't go wrong with 2 paracetemol and a pint of water before bed and then something fatty to eat when you get up to line your stomach. All tried and tested remedies

For the nausea, dry cornflakes (no milk or sugar) are better than bread - they absorb the alcohol and they're light with that pleasant flavour. Your stomach will normally handle cornflakes when you cant face anything else

If you get one then you may want to try pickle juice and canned fish. I know it sounds gross and weird but the pickle juice hydrates you better than Gatorade, and the canned fish has a tun of minerals.

Hm..good suggestions..though I won't eat bread alone or cornflakes, as they will add at the sugar levels in the blood, already up because of the alcohol, leading to nausea and dizyness . I'd suggest a proper meal before drinking (cheers Elia!!), and include in that some animal fat (butter, pork meat). That'll help keep alcohol at bay. Don't drink fast and don't mix beverages (wine with beer, or spirits). Don't add something else to beverage (water, cola etc..). Throw up (discretely) if you feel so, and never drink after that. OFC, water, and vitamin C will help a lot the day after. An old remedy says you have to have coffe with salt (it works and it makes ya feel beter), but the taste is so very damn horrible. And something else, with no connection to what you asked: never drink with strangers .
