So I caught the sun yesterday bad me I now have what I'd describe as mild-ish sunburn, it's hot and itchy but not peeling (yet ) I was wondering if anyone has any home remedies for sunburn? This thread might come in handy for other people later on in the year (I can't believe I burnt in April! I'm such a Celt!)

Aloe gel.
Repeated applications will usually stop the iccky peeling and it feels divine on that hot skin.

The only think i can think of is aloe. If you have access to a plant cut off a leave and use the gel insied to rub on your sunburn.

I know the feeling, I get burnt when no one else does! I got sunburned in London, England in october on vacation riding around on those double decker buses!!! Paba, vitamin e and beta carotene capsules or eli sun capsules (this product has both plus more in it). Aloe vera gel, coconut oil after a lukewarm bath with vinegar also will give you some relief. If you can't get the paba immediately, try drinking a great deal of carrot juice and some vitamin e.

Lavender or coconut oil is great.

Hello Smeezle
You can do a skin bath soak
Mix juice from 3 lemons into warm bath, add two cups of milk. Soak for seven minutes. Relax while this mixture smoothens your skin. Smile and affirm I claim beauty and harmony today.

Try rubbing mustard on to the sunburn it will take the sting out of the sunburn.. I have tried this with my son when he got a little to much sun a couple of years ago and it really did work. The next day he said it didn't hurt anymore. I have also heard that vinegar helps a burn very well..
Also found an article not long ago that egg whites help with a burn. The egg whites have collagen in them and it helps the skin repair itself faster. One lady in the article says she burnt her hand so she beat a few egg whites in a bowl and would dip her hand in it let it dry and did that several times... The next morning she said that her hand looked like it was never burnt. Just thought I would share some home remedies with everyone for a burn.
Brightest blessings

I heard vinegar can help, I think I also read somewhere that mixing a little lemon juice with water and rubbing on the skin will help soothe it. Then of course like many other suggest aloe vera.

Honey. Anitbacterial it speeds up healing. You can mix it with aloe or anything else that helps healing.

Celts don't tan, they rust! Aloe Vera, buy it from a health food store and keep it in the fridge. And stop running around skyclad in the daytime.
