I am have merely taken the first baby steps on my path, so this is all so new to me. However, I was sitting in my sign language class a few days ago, and I was extremely stressed. We had a final that day which I had not studied for adequately. My heart was beating so hard I felt I might burst. The level of stress caused me to be snippy and irritable, which is not my normal disposition. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and these are the words that came to me.

O Goddess,
help me on this day.
Give me guidance
and strength I pray.

My heart is pounding,
beating like a drum.
Makes me feel so old
when I am so young.

O Goddess,
guide me on this day.
Give me patience
and love I pray.

when i have hard moments, i sometimes use something from Frank Herbert's Dune, The Lithany against Fear:

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."
