After reading a thread about this in this forum, I have a question.......
My baby sister is down for the holidays and last night we go together for some catching up and relaxation before the craziness of the holidays started. We started to talk about when she was little and the wierd things that she could do. Well, one thing inperticular. I think she could astral project while sleeping. She would often wake up from a nap and know what everyone had been doing while she was asleep. One day, she got up form a nap and told Mom that she saw her making lunch and was hungry so she decided to get up.
Mom of course got a little worried and askd her how she "saw " her if she was sleeping. My sister said she was out of her body and looking down on her. Needless to say everyone freaked a little and my Dad sat her down. He basically said don't do that anymore and that she may not get back into her body. Or worse something else would get in before she got back.
MY question is was that right? Could that happen? I don't know anything about this really and I feel sure someone here probably does.
Also, should my dad have discouraged her? I wonder what she would be able to accomplish if she was encouraged or was able to develop on her own.
Any thoughts would be great!!!!

I do not know much about Astral Projection, but I do have a couple of E-books on this subject.
One of them I have is by Donald J. Degracia about Out of Body Experiences, and as I was flicking through I came across a section 'Getting into trouble'. He talks about coming into contact with other entities etc, but he does not mention anything about your physical self being 'possessed' as such.
Bare in mind that this book has been written from his own experiences and his religious beliefs, but if you would like a copy, PM me with your email addy and I'll send it to you.
As for discouraging her, in my opinion, it may have been a good thing to do as she was little. If he did not understand what it was that was happening there was little chance that your sister could have asked for any help from anyone if she found herself in trouble. Maybe know she's older she may want to try and read up about it and try again.
Hope that helps a little.

I've had similar things happen to me..
One time I was asleep on the couch at my boyfriends house.
I looked to my left and saw his mother sitting at the dining room table, talking on the telephone
I then tried to sit up and get off of the couch, thinking that I was awake, and I couldn't move.
Finally I got up and turned around and I saw myself lying still on the couch.
I laid back down and woke up several moments later.
That was pretty freaky and it has happened several other times since.

Thank you for sharing your experiences, Butterfly Angel.....I will be sure to pass them on to my sister.....she is really trying to grasp what she could do and if she wants to try again now that she is older.
Thanks again!

HOw old is your "baby sister"? Knowledge is key here...if she knows she is able to do this, then I would say to shield the body before sleeping. She can always find her way back to to the body because the "silver cord" connects the astral body with the physical one.
As far as meeting/ bringing back attached entities, yes that is a possibility...however with a strong visualization of returning to the body much like a spaceship, it will "burn off" most, if not all those trying to gain a "free ride" to this plane of existence. Not all those met on the astral plane are warm and fuzzy, some are downright obnoxious...again, awareness and knowledge are key.
Bright Blessings,
Kisja

While it almost never happens, it can happen that people don't get back into their body, or can't properly 'anchor' themselves again for some time.
As for the discouragement; it depends. Is it something your sister wants to develop and take responsibility for? Is she an ethical person who will use this for more than just 'because it's fun and exciting?' If she can't say yes to the last two questions, the discouragement is appropriate.
If you think she can be ethical with it though, search 'Astral Projection' here at Magicka, there are quite a few topics on it already, with a lot of resources available.

Thank you for the replies. My sister is currently 22 years old but when this was happening she was five. She is now very interested in the ability.
When my dad told her to not do it again, he scared her so bad she never attempted it again, EVER!
Again, thanks for the respose, I have given her all the ebooks I have been sent and all the information all of you have sent me.
