I am a beginner and worship the God and Goddess in a general way right now. Despite my Christian upbringing, I am really struggling to connect with the God. Maybe it is because I am female....maybe because my prior connections were with a God that was much different. How do you view/work with the God in a general sense? I guess I still see him as a Father and protector. I feel like the Goddess just seems to be so much more involved in daily life, but that may just be my own perception since I am a wife and mother.

I think it may be difficult to really connect with a 'generic' god (or goddess, for that matter). Visualizing a male principle is about all you can do.
When you get to the point of choosing (or hopefully, being chosen) a particular god it will be much easier because you will have all of his information. Don't rush it, though, it'll all come in time. Read and learn as much as you can and research the different pantheons - Greek, Celtic etc. then you'll find yourself drawn to a particular god and goddess or be called/claimed by one.

Im the opposite .. when I pray I feel like Im speaking to my God more then a Goddess even though I address both in the beginning but after a bit find myself speaking to the God more then Goddess .. maybe because I was thought to pray like that my whole life so its just habit and Im very new to wicca/pagan religion like I have stated before .. is there anything I can do to feel more connected to the Goddess ? .. and is it silly of me to feel a bit bad when leaving out my God (addressing the Goddess only)

One of the most basic of principles in the Craft is that male and female deities are not just male and female, they have characteristics of both sexes. Kind of like Yin and Yang are primarily black and white, but both have a little bit of the other within them. Also, we, as humans, have both male and female characteristics. Perhaps the reason that you are having trouble connecting to the God is because you haven't fully acknowledged YOUR male characteristics, or simply you haven't heard enough/read enough about Lord to develop a clear picture of who he is to you.
Here is what I would suggest, do some research, like Briganta said, check out different pantheons and just think about it and if you feel any one particular way, follow it and see what comes of it.
Also, know thyself, think about all the different aspects of you that make you, you. I did this in my younger years, I wrote it out on paper. Then I looked at all the different things about me, and I decided which were primarily male/female characteristics, and then I thought about them and how if I didn't have a certain trait, mayhap it be masculine, I might not have another trait that mayhap be feminine. I guess what it would be is a balancing and self realization exercise.
