I thought I'd let you see some of my artwork The Autumnal Greenman... It's the same design (minus the deciduous leaves) that I did for my Greenman Athame, This was the original sketch: And this is the closest I've got to a green lady of sorts: This too: One day I want to have my own kiln, and when I do, these two concept sketches will be made flesh... er.. clay. And these two are meant to be painted onto candle sconces, I've got the wooden blanks for them and have finished the female version but haven't even started the male: This is the sketch I did for my scrapbook page describing the Mother, Maiden and Crone: An ink sketch of a scene from Avebury, one of my favourite places: Random incense holder made from air drying clay (damn that lack of kiln!) And once she had been gilded: I did this after a visit to Bath: This too: And this was done while actually at Bath.. I turned into a bit of an attraction Someone even asked if they could take a picture of me sketching!

You are amazing, Smeezle.
I hope you realize how talented you really are! I always enjoy seeing your work.
Are those incense burners made with plain old modeling clay? What did you use to gild them?

Thank you I'm considering trying to sell pagan pyrography art work on Ebay... so this is helping my confidence!
For the incense burner I used this: Das Air Drying Clay. Once dry I covered it in copper coloured acrylic paint, then once that was dry I coated it thinly with metal leaf adhesive and waited for it to dry (there was a lot of drying involved in this project!) and gently layered copper leaf over it: This stuff.

Hiya Smeezle
These are incredible pieces! They are just sooooo gorgeous!!
I can see you are like me in that your mind is just buzzin with loads'a crafty ideas that you want to do that dozens of things all come out at once.....lol. You are very talented hon!
By the way thanks for the suggestion of which craft iron to use for woodburning.
I've been using it on leather too, I'm making 'medieval' leather bound journals at the mo (with recycled paper pages) and using 'said' craft iron to create pretty pictures on the fronts, I'm working on 8 all at once as Xmas prezzies, when I've finished I'll post some pic's to show all
Well keep up the good work hon.
BB Cherri xx

Your art work is amazing. You should definately try to sell on Ebay.
I loved Avesbury when I visited. I keep trying to get my family to go back with me.

Nikki, just letting you know that you had a double post there. I went ahead and fixed it.
And Smeezle, your artwork is lovely! I always enjoy looking at it, and I agree you could definitely sell it on ebay.

I'm quite fond of your take on the Triple Goddess theme but I enjoyed all of your artwork. It is so inspiring. Also too, I don't think I will look at the moss on the side of a tree the same way again. Thank You for sharing that with us. There is a way to fire your clay objects without a kiln, but I do not know it. Wt a Pagan festival at Wisteria in Ohio in the United States they have a class on that sort of thing. I obviously didn't take the class. I think they just light a fire around it. I'm probably over simplifying the procedure. You might want to look into the process though. Blessed Be
