Merry Meet I'm not sure if my question relates more to lesson 3 or 4, since in lesson 3 it's about the opening of the temple, but in lesson 4 consecrating the athame and other tools. So i am sorry if i write this in the wrong topic. Anyway I somehow don't seem to find how to consecrate, salt, water and incense. Or do you do it the same way to consecrate the athame? Or the other tools? Or better yet, do you even consecrate those things, and did i make a complete fool of myself now? Thankies! Stef

For me I don't think the salt and wate have to be consecrated per say. The salt concecrates the water. As for the incense I have never consecrated them at all I actually run my tools throught the smoke to concecrate them. Everyone has their own way of doing things so do what feels right to you.

This is just one way you can consecrate the salt and water:
To do this you need a pentacle on the altar and a consecrated athame.
Place bowl (or chalice) of water on the pentacle and holding the athame between both hands, point down, put the tip of the blade of athame in the water and say:
"I cleanse and consecrate this water that it may be purified to aid me in my circle of magic. I consecrate this water in the names of The Lord and The Lady (use the names of your deities if you have patron deities).
Then remove the bowl or chalice of water from the pentacle and place your little bowl of salt on the pentacle and, holding the athame between both, point down, touch the point of the athame to the salt and say:
"Blessings be upon this creature of salt, let all malignity and hindrance be cast forth hencefrom and let all good enter herein. I bless this salt that it may aid me in the names of The Lord and The Lady (or, again use your deities' names if you have patron deities).
Then transfer three pinches of salt into the water and stir with your wand.
Note: this is just one way to do it, as Lindsay says there other ways. Feel free to change the words a little bit if you want to.
As well, there are many ways to exorcise and consecrate your athame. One way to cleanse it is to bury it in the earth for a while and ask Earth to cleanse it. Then pass it through incense and sprinkle consecrated water on it. That way you've cleansed it with Earth, Air and Fire (the incense) and Water - all four elements.
Hope this helps, Briganta

Hey! Well, thank you both for the great help! I read somewhere that before you do anything, you should consecrate everything. Although it felt awkward to consecrate, salt, water and incense, i just wanted to make sure, that it isn't really needed. However, i will give it a try, so thank you very much!

The main reason for cleansing all of your tools is that things hold energies and vibrations of people that have a) made them or b) pre-owned them; and you want to be sure that the tools are cleansed of any negative vibrations. You want clean (physically and energetically) tools to be on your altar and in your circle.
If you find a small branch or cut a small branch (after asking and then thanking the tree) to use as a wand then I wouldn't worry so much about cleansing it but I would definitely bless it and dedicate it.

Not sure if this is in the right spot...but I took a break from the course and then submitted my exam before copying out the meditations/rituals/etc. from it...I can't go back to look at the material now, is there anyway to get it?

You can purchase a copy of the textbook from the magicka bookstore, or paying members can download it in PDF format for free.

Hello everyone This may seem a silly question but, Tuesday my chalice comes and then I will have my altar tools. I am currently on lesson four and am wondering that you have to consecrat the altar tools in a circle that has been cast, however as I have not consecrated my tools,as I am waiting for my chalice, what do I cast the circle with as my athama and wand aswell as the other tools have not been consecrated? Love and Light Yuna

I don't quite understand your question, but from what I understand, here is my response.
You don't need to cast a circle to cleanse/concecrate your tools. It is as easy as burrying them in the groud in a potted plant over night and then saying a a prayer over them. You can cleanse them in saltwater, sunlight, moonlight, by smudging or running it through incense. It is simple. So you can just cleanse those items and then cast your circle.

Is anyone else having some trouble with projecting consciousness?
I can imagine what it would be like to look at the room from a candle's point of view, imagine what it might feel like to be a candle, but I still feel like I'm located firmly inside my own head.

I have a question about consecration of the ritual tools. So far I've read that to consecrate your tools, you place them upon the altar pentacle, then you sprinkle them with the blessed water while speaking words of affirmation and intent. My question is how would I go about consecrating the altar pentacle? Is there any set way to do this? As I'm sure you don't place your pentacle upon another pentacle to consecrate and bless it, I'm just wondering how one would go about that, and should the pentacle be consecrated before the other tools as such?
Any advice or opinion on this would be very helpful.

Hiya Jevaud,
Now for me when i did place my pentacle on my altar the way i blessed it and made it for the intent of my altar i placed a crystal onto it for 3 nights cleansing it and filling it with my energies then I lit some incense and passed it through the smoke and pour my energies into it ....Now whether or not that is what people do i dont know lol but then i dont use my pentacle the way it is described in the lessons either lol
I hope that helps but i am sure you will get other replies on this also
Love and Hugs Miss Ink
