My older brother (Chuck) diagnosis: stage 4 cancer brain and lungs, he lives with 2 of our sisters (Kathy & Joyce) in northern california. All are senior citizens. Kathy had polio as a child in an iron lung for a very long time, it was in remission for 50 yrs+ but it has resurfaced on top of having HBP and C.O.P.D., her middle section of her back/spine is bent over forwardly. Joyce is caring for both of them and she is the oldest of my family, healthy but over stressed with some health problems as well, HBP for one but she needs strength to carry on. Kathy's daughter (Joanne age 40) is not well at all, she has C.O.P.D. also, but worse ended up with some dentist that extracted all her teeth and now she has dentures of which she can't wear because she can barely breath. I work in dentistry, I know she had good teeth, but probably couldnt afford top of the line treatment, so he just told a denture would solve the problem vs a long term treatment plan to pay off gradually while treatment is done over time. Lack of care and concern to cause no harm, what a reasonable doctor would have done is the guideline to follow. This is an out-dated approch to dental care and I am so disgusted with this kind of neglect in care. Lots of things to pray about, please put them on your prayer list. Thank you.
