Has anyone tried scrying with a bowl of water? I think the bowl is supposed to be a dark colour and you place it on a dark cloth on a table with candles at either side but back a bit.

If so, what results did you have and was there anything that was a problem for you?

I only tried it once last year. I got a black bowl, and filled it water, I lit some candles and turned off the lights.

I gazed in to the bowl, slowly breathing, not trying to strain my eyes by making objects out. I remember it being similar to mediation.

After a while I got one snap vision of a front view of Viking front part of a boat, a griffin or birds head, with flames around it - this was all in grey not colour. Reminded me of the phoenix in a way.

It was very quick, so I drew down what I could remember, but nothing else has happened afterwards, but I have yet to try it again. I feel like I need to understand this symbol, but have no clue yet.

Noise easily distracted me though.

Thanks for sharing, Adriannauk. Some people have to do it a few times before they get any results. I've never actually tried it but it's on my list of things I want to do.

I used to see scrying crystals in shops - are they actually for scrying? All I've seen about scrying doesn't mention any crystals.

Crystal Balls are used for scrying and I suppose a large crystal would work.
I have a crystal ball, the trick is to unfocus your eyes, like you are in a daydream, and you find yourself gazing into space. You are sort of looking through the ball.
I have better luck with the Tarot cards.

I don't usually use a bowl of water to scry with though when I do .. it has produced some fascinating results.

I sometimes scry with crystal balls...but then it's more them showing me stuff when I've been looking lol - they are quite good to work with but you have to keep them cleansed on a regular basis. Otherwise they just collect energy, which reminds me I need to cleanse the ones I've befriended...

The interesting thing about scrying is that you can use many methods to see, for example seeing shapes in clouds - cloud scrying and also using a candle to scry with as well. Very good methods though I have to admit working with crystals as well as candles is my favourite way of doing so although I'm not sure if that's the magical way of scrying it certainly feels magical to me!

Well, it took a couple of practice tries... but wasn't that long really. About a few days or so after cleansing once you've gotten to know the crystal itself. After that, it was quite frequent though I haven't seen anything in them recently admittedly. Some of them I don't use because my ex bought me one and it just has weird vibes now. I've cleansed it enough but still doesn't sit right so I use the clear quartz ones instead.

They've showed me quite a lot of stuff from when I was following a more psychic based pathway in the past all very vividly in color. But yeah the first try after cleansing just showed a white cloud in the ball, the rest of the times they've tended to show me stuff it's more when I am not looking at them directly but happen to see things in them just out of the corner of my eye if that makes sense.

Oh, that's quicker than I would have thought, that's great. I should get mine out and start practicing, lol.

Here's a tip - try not to gaze directly into the ball itself but more glaze around its edges. If you work with chakras that ought to help if you don't, don't worry too much about it. Just relax and try not to force it otherwise well... if you force anything it won't happen as much as you want it to happen in my opinion! Oh and maybe invoke a protection prayer before you use it too might be an idea! Hope it helps!

The results I got were... I sighted a person standing in a roomful of lighted candles like a candlelight bath so to speak with a long corridor outlined by red lighted candles. Couldn't tell if past life related or not. Probably not. In the past, the crystal ball showed me native american beadwork. No clue if that's connected but those are just some of the things I've seen!

Sometimes I'll just get colours which can relate to the chakras but if I use the labradorite one it'll help me protect by visualizing a golden pyramid etc or a silver pyramid so yup it has produced some very interesting results whenever I've scryed. Wishing you folks luck with the scrying!
