I collect swords and blades in general. But i want to work them into proper magical tools. I only have wooden ones right now but I want to get them the proper use and rights they have as magical tools. How can I do this?

At least once a month. But I want to make them each an extension of a diffrent part of me but I dont know how.

When you are drawn to something to use it in a ritual or in your magick practice in general that generally means that it is already a part of you which is why you were drawn to it. Cleansing and consecrating it is a good idea just to "dust off" any negative energy that may be on it from the past, but generally speaking, if you chose it because it spoke to you then it's already a part of you in some way.

I would just start using the tools in rituals, getting a feel for them, and connecting to them. I know that with Tarot cards, just shuffling them energizes the deck with your personal power. I slept with them under my pillow one night, so that my unconscious mind had an opportunity to connect with them as well.

That is also a great idea, although I don't know how safe it would be to sleep with anything larger than an athame/dagger under your pillow lol

Lol. I suppose that's a good point. Yes, what works for Tarot might not work for athames or swords.

As has been said - cleansing and consecrating your tools is quite important, I believe.

Traditionally, the sword and knife are considered tools of Air, direction of East, in most traditions, although there are some who have them connected to Fire (the blade is born from fire) and the South, so perhaps you could do some meditating on that to decide how you wish to use them in your practice. The blade is used by most people to cast the circle and to control/command spirits but it wouldn't be polite to command a deity to your circle with your athame or sword, for that a wand would be more appropriate.
