Merry Meet to all,
One of my goals for this year is to cut back on the coffee drinking. I use a lot of sugar and creamer along with it. But anyways, in my readings I see that tea is very much a part of Witchcraft, especially the areas I've been so interested in. So my question is, what would be the best kind or flavor to start with? I know that I don't like ice tea, so I'm afraid I won't be able to find something that will suit me. I would like to start with something that is mild or mellow. I love to be able to have a hot drink when I'm working, at home chilling, or just whenever. I come from a family of coffee drinkers since I can remember. Thanks for any help!

The problem with this question is that everyone is different. Its like with coffee, everyone has their own preference. I tend to use fruit or herb teas as I have been trying to cut out caffeine. Whilst I make a lot of teas myself, I also buy a lot. Different ones for different times of day and mood. For keeping out the cold or if you feel you need something really warming, I like lemon and ginger with a spoon of honey. Camomile for bedtime, or just unwinding, peppermint is nice and refreshing. I like anything with raspberry or cranberry, and blackberry and nettle is good too. The only one I sweeten is the lemon and ginger, so the reduction in calories is really good. Go with flavours you know you like to start, and then work out from there.

Tiggerkins has given you the best advice I know of. I am a huge coffee AND tea drinker. When the morning coffee stops, the tea picks up,,,,usually iced during the day switching to warm at night or if I'm just in the mood for it. My two all time favorites (besides good ole Lipton!) are Constant Comment and Chai. I'm drawn to the exotic spices of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, orange, lemon, cardamon ~~~ I've gotten into blending my own teas here of late as under my business licensing I can purchase bulk herbs and my supplier has these wonderful tea bags that you fill and press closed with a hot iron after mixing your own blend ~~~ AND they carry the very best 100% organic Chai blend that I purchase in bulk (they have an extensive supply of organics) and I make up my own bags at a fraction of the retail store cost. Shot me a PM if ya want more info,,,,

You'll just have to experiment. Our local health food store often has sampler boxes where you get 5 bags of 4 different teas in a box to try out. Have a tea party and ask each of the guests to bring a few bags of their favorite to share. Not sure if they have tea houses/rooms where you live. Around here there are a few where you can sample different teas similar to wine tastings. I personally like Earl Grey in the morning, in winter I add a cup of Triple Leaf's Cold & Flu Time blend (and so far I have escaped all the coughs and sniffles the kids dragged home) and switch to Rooibos for the afternoon.

Oh, that sounds great. I have these little drawstring bags, great because reusable, but the strings tend to come open or not close tightly enough that no tea leaves escape. Where do you get those? Bright Blessings, Sequoia Mist

Bright Blessings, Sequoia Mist My biggest kept secret ~ 99.9% of all my herbs/oils are purchased through them unless for some reason they don't carry it or it is not in stock with a short back order http://www.starwest-botanicals.com/cate ... -tea-bags/ Caution, you can get very lost and very poor on their website

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm going to write these names down and see if I can't find someplace to check them out at. As suggested, I would like to someplace that I try them out as samples first!
Blessed Be!

When I switched from coffee to tea, I found that English Breakfast Tea has the right flavor for me in the morning and I sweeten it with a packet of stevia. At night I like to have Earl Grey. I don't often drink iced tea. In the afternoons, I like mint or cinnamon spice tea. In hot weather, I just let it cool off so it's no longer steaming before I drink it.

My most recent batch of loose tea was bought at Teavana which has a store at my mall. Some of them are.very expensive though. Mountain Rose Herbs is an online supplier of herbs and teas. I know I saw those tea bags SF was talking about on there too.
