Ok, so I am going to tell mine and hope I don't sound like a complete clutz!  I was performing my self dedication ritual, and things were going and went wonderfully. I didn't have a cauldron, but I did have a small pot that was supposed to be fire proof (notice I said supposed to be). I had my dedication candles in the pot and had just burned my wish only a few minutes before. I noticed that after that fire had died down and I got further into my ritual that my candles were acting abnormally, sparking and bubbling and doing things I've never seen a candle do! I was uber excited because I felt a close connection with Shiva and Kali and felt they were talking with me as I was meditating! Ritual over, I closed my circle and started putting up my supplies,I left my dedication candle burning in the pot, just cracking and popping and leaping away, feeling very empowered by it all. I lifted the pot off of the carpeted floor and ....... Fireproof pots are not necessarily fireproof!!  I had burned a perfectly round little hole about the size of a coffee cup in the middle of my carpet, clear through to the subfloor! again!! I quickly grabbed up the pot and put it in the sink, careful not to let the candle go out! The fun part was explaining to my husband, who is so not Pagan, how the hole got in my floor!  There is a beautiful throw rug over the spot now!!  Conclusion: don't believe that fireproof pots are fireproof......and The power of the God and Goddess is awesome when they are trying to get your attention!!!  _________________  Hold up your torch, Dark Goddess of the Underworld, that your Light may shine the way to my rebirth----Moderator----

Yeeeaaah. *LOL* I haven't ran into anything yet that pinned Shiva and Kali as fire gods specifically, but I can say from personal experience that Shiva is a bit fire-happy *understatement of the year...*. One of my first experiences in meditation with him was a 'trial by fire' of sorts and at one point I thought my whole bedroom was burning down.  It wasn't, but ripping myself out of meditation like that was 'wooooooo!'. Took me a few minutes to ground. Moral of the story: be extra-extra fireproof when dealing with Shiva's energy.

Okay, I guess I can bite the bullet and share the most embarrassing experience I have ever had.  It started back when I was 15. I had been taking a nature hike through a forest that was somewhat close to home. I found myself coming up to a beautiful California redwood so I decide to take an hour and meditate next to it. About half way through I hear this, Thump, Thump, Thump. It keeps getting louder and louder, closer and closer. I let curiosity get the better of me and I open my eyes. To my astonishment I was looking at what had to be biggest rabbit I had ever seen. I start to get up and then the rabbit realizes I'm there. It jumps and takes off in the direction it came. At the same time this scares the crud out of me, I jump about 5 feet in the air and dash in the direction opposite of the rabbit. After a min. I stop and realize its not following me so I take a breath. Then my mind decides to work again and I start thinking, "I'm 15, I'm 6 feet tall, I've seen things/entities that would scare the living daylights out of most people. All this and the only thing to ever make me run away in terror......is a big bunny." Aiden, now you forever have a reminder of your dedication! On Imbolc I did a nice ritual with candles spiraling in dirt and I felt comfortable leaving them burning unattended. The glass ended up breaking and I lost what I was using for a censer! I still need a cauldron.

Yeah shipping is what would be the killer, but some people have found them at Goodwill, and flea markets, so maybe we could find a decent one there!

) is cast iron. My cauldron is a full 6" diameter, 4" depth on legs with a top. Spendy but worth every penny. I also have a cauldron that I burn tiny fires/small pieces of holy wood or several candles in that is actually a 5 quart cast iron dutch oven with a lid - also placed on a patio block when fired for any length of time. I guess I'm more paranoid about fire because I use it around my oxygen and have to be especially EXTRA careful because of it ~~~
